Introducing the MRD Foundation: Advancing Healthcare and Community Development in West Africa.

The MRD Foundation was founded by Mouhamad Rassoul Dieng in 2022 with a clear mission: to create lasting and sustainable change in communities across Senegal by improving access to healthcare, education, and social support. Built on the foundation that meaningful development requires long-term commitment, the Foundation focuses on strengthening local services and empowering communities rather than delivering short-term aid.

Access to healthcare is at the centre of the MRD Foundation’s work. The Foundation funds life-saving medical treatments for individuals in urgent need. Recently, this has included life-saving separation surgery for Senegalese conjoined twins. It also invests in healthcare infrastructure that benefits entire communities, including the recent funding of a new breast cancer biopsy technique, the first of its kind in West Africa.

Alongside its healthcare work, the MRD Foundation supports education and social initiatives that strengthen communities and expand opportunity. The Foundation supports children by providing school supplies, covering school fees, and improving learning environments. Its social work includes food distributions, assistance to orphanages, and the renovation of religious and local spaces that strengthen the community as a whole.

The MRD Foundation is reflects the values of its founder. Born and raised in Senegal, Mouhamad Dieng developed a strong sense of responsibility from an early age, shaped by his upbringing and a belief that opportunity carries an obligation to give back. Today, the Foundation reflects that commitment, working to create a future where communities across Senegal can access opportunity and more fulfilling lives.
